[OoC: Speed event, same deal as usual. Keep fluff out of responses. Giving people up to an hour to get in, but rounds will move every 20 min or so at the latest after that. This one may be a bit more niche than others and that's fine. If you got questions, hit me on discord.] "There's no fucking way, you cheat!"A booming voice could be heard from a bar with its door propped open, as a large man, in attire to indicate he might be a biker, stood to his feet and slammed his hands on the table in front of him. The cards atop it fluttered lightly before settling down once again, and the man on the other side of the table seemed to be entirely unaffected by the tantrum. "Them's the rules, friend. I made 'em clear 'afore we started. If you don't like it, we can go another round. Double'r nothin'." Holding out his hand, the cards on the table all floated in the air, before moving over to the deck, which began to shuffle itself in his hand. He stared as it did so, waiting to gauge the man's reaction. The large man grinned, as if now hysterical, as he reached behind his vest for something obscured from the man's vision. "You're a cheat. Even if this shit were real, do you think-"The rant was cut short as the man with the cards shook his head and snapped the fingers in his empty hand. As he did so, the angry individual across from him began to age rapidly, losing weight, his hair graying, in front of all present. Screams could be heard, and many individuals ran from the building. The man himself fell to a chair, and was dragged away by someone who seemed to be used to this sort of thing. "Can't handle the loss, don't play the game."The cards continued to shuffle atop the table, and the mysterious man sipped away at a drink that was provided for him.

Leon can't even enjoy a drink in this fucking city. He would get up and move to sit down at the table with his drink as everyone else was freaking out about what just happened Leon was uninterested in the folly of whatever caused the display of power, it was the fact power was displayed.
"Whats the game?"

Christa rubbed her temples, she was actively ignoring the card game going on behind her as she downed another shot. She finally caved though, turning to see the commotion behind her. Raising an eyebrow at the sight, she places some bills on the bar and gets up from her seat. Walking over to the table, she nods her head to the man dealing the cards, "Got room for another?"

Zade had his usual Tequila mixed drink. "Mhmm" He hummed as he tilted his head downward enough to get a glimpse of what was going on just a few tables nearby. "I'll try my hand. A little extra money never hurt" Zade said to himself with a smirk before he slowly made his way over toward the table shortly after Christa. "Wanna make that two?"

Of all bars to hide in after a heist, it had to be the one where weird powers were making people age a thousand years and die on the spot. Great.
Five quickly downed his glass of water, a nervousness welling up in him. There was a necklace worth a lot of money stashed away in a cloth in his coat, and he had to get it to safety sooner rather than later. Still, part of him was curious about what was going on, and the fact that there were people ballsy enough to approach some dude after all of this went down. Five had yet to personally see any of the weird stuff going on in this city, but now it was a chance to observe it up close.
He planned not to get dragged into anything just yet.

Sometimes, it was nice to be able to have a drink or two after a long day at work. Selena didn't have Caleb to hang out with, but, with her renewed self after restful nights and a lack of all encompassing paranoia, she actually had the courage to go out on her own.
Although, she found herself soon regretting that decision.
Selena had been drinking on her own at the bar, sipping at a sweet, summery mixed drink, when she lay witness to the freakish display. Others screamed and ran and she might have done the same, but instead found herself frozen in place, only able to watch on in silent horror. Particularly as others casually approached the table, interested in playing a game. Hadn't someone just wasted away mere moments before? Was that all in her head?
Maybe the nightmares had finally returned and she was only allowed a few nights of rest, after all? She could only pray that's what this was...

A brow rose and a curious glance was offered to each of those who approached the table just moments after the last man withered away to nothing. The cards all stopped fluttering atop the table, and a friendly nod followed. "Well, y'all'r certainly forward," he mused, grinning as he did.
"Allow me to explain, then - you got somethin' in your head you want. Somethin' I might be able to offer you. Name it. I name my price after," he stopped, looking around to make sure they all understood so far. "Then we play a game of my choosin'. You win, I give you what you want. I win, you give me what I want."
He shrugged, seeing if their interest was still around after that.

"Can we walk if the price is too steep?"
Leon asked immediately.

Christa took a seat at the table and leaned back a bit, raising an eyebrow, "Well before I get to tellin' you what I want, what is it you're gonna want from us?" She wasn't about to sell her soul to this random guy, she had enough on her plate.

So it was to be a gamble. A chance to get what you want, at the risk of losing it and possibly ending up like the zombified dude from earlier.
He wondered as to the nature of what this guy could grant, but what he wanted wasn't feasible by any means. He was curious enough to see what these other people did and how it would play out, however.

Zade rebuffed Christa's statement. "I'm a gambling man and all, but I'd rather wager something else that isn't my youth. I'm still game."

Much like a magic trick, an awfully convincing and unexplainable one, the cards moved and shuffled on their own. It would have been a delightful marvel if not for the man withering away into practically aged, skeletal remains. Surely... this was all a dream, right? A really weird, twisted dream? But... Selena had a feeling deep down that it wasn't. Should she try to leave before things inevitably worsened? A part of her, perhaps a morbid curiosity, urged her to stay.
She thought to record it, send the video to Riri. This was something the investigative journalist could have used. But it would take more liquid courage for her to be able to do that just yet. Her hands were shaking far too much for her to be able to steady her phone or film discreetly. Grabbing her drink, Selena downed it with wide eyes and looked for a bartender for something decidedly stronger.
The doctor listened carefully to what was said at the table. It sounded like some sort of Devil's game. Something from a grim novel or film. Certainly no one would take such an offer? If the man before had aged to near ashes, then clearly the stakes were exponentially high. Although, perhaps, that could have been a punishment for resistance. But Selena doubted it. The young woman felt that nothing could be worth such a heavy price. Faustian contracts and similar deals always ended poorly, at least in fiction.

"Ain't nothin' to force you," he shrugged. "If'n it ain't to your likin', you can walk away. Same as I wouldn't agree if you wanted more'n you were willin' to give."
To the next question, another shrug.
"Simple question, simple answer. The price matches what you ask for. You want a century of youth? Then you better be willin' to offer up all of what you got left. But, if it weren't somethin' so extreme, we could be more agreeable."

Leon would look at the dead guy.
"What'd he want?"
Leon would think.
"I want a power like what you, the Saint of Anthem City, and Amadeo Lambardi have."

If there was a bartender, she asked for a scotch. If the staff had bolted, she would pull out cash, lay it down, and reach over, grabbing for whatever was nearest.
With more liquid courage at hand, the doctor proceeded to text her journalist friend about what she was seeing, eyes hardly able to look away from the scene before her. Taking a deep breath, Selena went to record, keeping her phone upright on the bar and facing forward, drinking and watching. There was no way in hell she was joining something like this. She didn't feel there was anything she wanted bad enough, even the power to help others in the ways she had only dreamed. Not for the kind of price it undoubtedly would have cost.
At least not now...
