Five gulped at the thought of the worst having happened to Seven. No, there's no way she was dead. He couldn't believe that. And if there was a cost associated with bringing her back, like as not it would be far too great for him to pay...
"I wish to know her fate, where she is... I am certain I can get her back if only I knew."

Vivi was starting to get a little worried about how steep of a request Five made. Her face remained completely neutral, but she’d be keeping an eye on him.
“Let’s do this,” she muttered. The cards began to float but she wasn’t entirely sure how to begin.

Selena clenched her eyes shut, biting down hard at the inside of her cheek. She shouldn't. This was an exponentially bad idea.
But the temptation proved too great, especially after hearing the terms which Leon had to take. Downing her second drink and grabbing herself another, the doctor stepped forward, clearing her throat and looking terribly nervous.
"The deal and terms of Mr. Sudeki... if I may, I would like to take the same, or similar, as well. But with my own inherent power." She didn't know for sure she had them, but Selena had a strong suspicion she did.
What in the hell was she even doing? If Caleb had been here, he would have dragged her away and berated her the rest of the night.
But he wasn't.
And she was ready to gamble. As uncharacteristic as it was for her. But these were dire times, were they not?

"You can call me the Gambler," he spoke simply, before the two floating cards would be set down upon the table with one face up - a seven - and the other down. Selena would simply be waved over absentmindedly and told to sit somewhere at the table.
Two cards for each person who stepped forward would also float up, with one being placed in front of the person on the table, face down, the other being taken to their hands so only they could see the number held in front of them.
"It's... elementary, due to the amount of interest shown and simply for the sake of brevity. You've got two cards. There's two here on the table as well. With what's presented, simply declare whether you expect your total to be higher or lower than the house total. If you're correct twice, I'll grant you what you desire. Wrong twice, and I take what's mine."

Leon stared.
"Lower."

Christa stared at her face up card for a moment, "I'm gonna go with higher this round." This was a bit more nervewracking than she thought it was gonna be, everyone seemed kinda grim. She took a sip of her drink, waiting for the results.

Selena bit down on her bottom lip, blue eyes quickly glancing side-to-side, as though searching for an answer.
She took a deep breath, fingers gripping tightly at the glass in her hand. "H-Higher."
With that, she took a long drink and did her best to steady her shaking.

Vivi looked at the card she’d drawn.
“Lower,” she stated.

His question fell on deaf ears. He didn't know the cost, and so he couldn't wager something reasonably.
Five would remain silent. He was desperate to find Seven, but he wasn't dumb to play a game blindly. He was of no use to her or anyone else if he was dead or crippled.

After all but one of the declarations were made, the face down cards would light up brightly, before numbers suddenly appeared face up.
House: MgFlzlRj1-12 Christa: 1-12 Five: 1-12 Leon: 1-12 Selena: 1-12 Vivi: 1-12 Zade: 1-121-12·1-12·1-12·1-12·1-12·1-12·1-12

"House total of 11," the Gambler nodded. "Which means we have one success for... Christa, Five, and Zade. The rest of you have failed once. Consider this next round more... carefully."
With that, the cowards would float back to the deck and re-shuffle. After this was done, two more cards would lay out on the center. Of them, a 10 was face up, the other face down. As before, all six were handed one card of which they could see the value, with one face down before them.

What? A success?
Five was getting nervous. He didn't even say anything, but his heart was racing now. Was it too late to back out of this? He hadn't even agreed in the first place.
In an effort to stay calm, he took a deep breath and bit his lip to prevent himself from expressing any outward distress. He would look towards Vivi with concern, noting that she had failed once so far.
It was worrisome all around.
