Manakel stood at the center of a shopping plaza within the Andromeda Space Station, a look of confusion upon its face as it stared out at the sea of people living their lives in harmony. The peace itself was no source of confusion to the shade - nor was the mix of species (not that it knew these people were not all of the same kind). The confusion came from the fact that, well... Manakel simply had no idea what anything was. So, it attempted to gather information, by standing there and listening in on everything that it could.
"I... make no understanding," Manakel would say after a short time under its breath. It would feel a hand upon its shoulder, to which it turned to see the face of Binah smiling upon it.
"It appears they are calling this a... food court, Manakel," the phantom would say.
"For what crime is the food to be judged?" the shade inquired, fear apparent in its tone.
Binah laughed, patting Manakel on the back. "No, not that sort of court. The common tongue is strange, but in this context, it means an area where you can find plenty of food. For eating, not judging."
Manakel's brow furrowed, but it nodded, attempting to understand. It felt the pangs of hunger in recent days, so a place to eat was welcome. Looking around, it saw no foods that were familiar to it, however. Eventually, one thing would stick out - a long piece of meat, almost like a rounded cylinder, in the center of split open bread.
"... What... is that?" he asked, pointing to the food item in the hands of a large, particularly slimy individual. This individual looked offended, and was about to speak up, before its partner indicated that Manakel was pointing at the food, and not the slimy one itself.
"This? It's a hot dog, Genius," the individual said, before sliding along the ground to leave the food court. This encounter simply left Manakel even more confused.
"Manakel was not seeing... flame, nor dog."
Concerned, the shade looked to the phantom, but the phantom simply shrugged.
After gathering its thoughts, Manakel eventually found where people were getting their hot dogs from, and wished to try one for itself. So, Manakel waited in line for this hot dog treat. When it was the shades turn to order, it simply spoke, "Hot dog," and a basic one was made. Once it took the strange food in its massive clawed hand, the human behind the stall held out his hand.
Manakel stared down at the hand, blinking. It looked to Binah, who also seemed clueless, before the human spoke up.
"Gotta pay up to eat, buddy."
"Manakel... has confusion."

For the longest time John sat in the food court wondering what the actual fuck. He had gotten over his shock... Maybe... It was more what to do now, he had only ever envisioned this place in his imagination and now it was a living breathing world... How many people had his words killed? Was Brandon, Shugo, or Valo still writing this? Where he could actually feel it, live it, experience the horrors of life in the whims of fancy?
Thats about when he noticed the huge Ogre.
'Gotta be one of Brandons characters... Or a QC... Shit I'm in a food court! If it's a QC I'm about to die!'
Then he noticed the possible slight altercation that could spell the beginning of the event where the poor hot dog vender was about to demand money from the huge QC. Making his way over quickly he'd take out the wallet of the guy whose body he was in and quickly pull out whatever cash was there, almost slapping it viciously into the hand of the vendor.
"Uh, on me."
He tried to sound friendly...

"Look, buddy, it's not confusing. You pay, you eat. You don't pay, you don't-"
The vendor stopped as he saw the money, and grinned as way too much was put into his hands. "... you know what? This works for me. Have a nice day."
With that, the vendor waved for Manakel to leave, only the shade was simply left even more confused by this gesture. "Surely, he cannot be meaning..." Manakel started, then looked behind the man, to where Binah was standing, currently invisible. Binah, once again, simply shrugged, leaving Manakel to try to understand this one on its own. "... if that is your asking."
Nodding, Manakel would lift up the hot dog, and reach out with its massive claws. That clawed hand would open up, dropping the hot dog on the stranger's shoulder - and, even though the odd series of tasks had been completed, Manakel could not help feeling like nothing was truly accomplished.
"At what point does Manakel making... eating, of this "hot dog" food?"

A small purple rock with an eyeball on it crawled on the ceiling of the Food Court, making its way over to the hotdog place rather hastily. The small creature was in kahoots with none other than Amelie, who sat close by just in case anyone tried causing a problem with her hotdog theft. She wished Date would pay her, but with the way business is right now she couldn't really ask for more than she was given. Luckily she has a partner in crime now, and it can steal all the hotdogs in the world for her.
"Are you hungry, Xavash?" She spoke telepathically to her other half, "Of course I'm hungry lady, I might look like a rock but I get hungry too."
"Ugh, I thought we were over calling me lady."
"Well, you asked a stupid question. That one ain't on me."
"Whatever, just grab a couple then will ya?"
She watched as Xavash crawled around the pillars and into the kitchen, where it would wait patiently until it found an opening. Luckily for them, the cashier was distracted by the newcomer of hotdogs so an opportunity might arise sooner than later.

John watched the massive claw raise up and over him. The shadow cast just a prelude to his soon to be sudden departure from this world. He wasn't even really paying much attention to what it was saying anymore, just making his peace with this new life.
'Well it was short lived, many questions left unanswered, but I already lived one life, do I really care about this one?'
And then he felt pressure land on his shoulder, figure that was the last sensation before death he simply braced, until he finally realized what it said...
"Oh... That was just an expression."
John would say reaching over for the hot dog and holding it out to hand it back.
"It means I will take the burden of the situation on me, by accepting the responsibility of paying for the hot dog."
Talking way too much, maybe he was just really nervous. This body didn't seem to be anything special as far as he could tell. He was fairly sure he just ended up in some random NPC's body.
"Go ahead and eat it."

"Myesss myesss that's all fine and well, but where are MY hott dogs."
Blayden spoke with an almost whiny tone, inflections on seemingly random words. He stood there as if it was the most natural thing in the world, as if he had been with John and Manakel. His arms were crossed over his chest foot tapping like a Karen as he looked towards John.
"I'll take two hott dogs. And be sure not to rip me off like this guy, myess. If there's no chili or cheese, I will be disappointed. Oh."
Blayden turned his head towards the rather large ogre John had been with. He paused for a moment, making sure to straighten out his ears to make up some of the height difference. Blayden pulled hand up to his mouth and cleared his throat before continuing.
"He ripped you off by the way. It is a travesty not to have the chili or cheese on your hott dog. Not even any mustard." Blayden turned his head towards John once more. "You know what, myesss, make it 4 hott dogs with the chili and cheese, my friend is simply famished."
