Did you know coffee shops make the BEST milkshakes? No seriously, they do. Good quality ingredients, professional attention to detail, better than anywhere that doesn't sell ice cream.
So when Nagi decides to go be a little social and interact with the world, he grabs a laptop, heads down to the western district (because people who WORK for a living have better quality coffee than people behind a desk), buys himself the bigger strawberry-chocolate milkshake he can, and claims a table where he can people watch while working.
Today was research! Specifically the big names of Anthem's company. First up! The man in charge of power, one Mr. Sudeki had his social media page and several other pages about him pulled up.

The enigma himself would enter the coffee shop and wait in line. He scratched at his scars a bit on his cheek with a full finger gloved hand. Nonchalantly looking around he was just trying to make it to the front of the line. Eventually when he got there he asked for a hot cocoa with a double shot of chocolate and whip cream on top of it. Thank god, he had gone a full four hours without some hot cocoa and he was starting to get jittery.
He wandered around for a spot to sit and drink, spotting some guy with a lap top.
"Mind if I sit here while I finish my drink and morning?"

"Sure, I'm just working on a bit of a research project. Looking into famous locals, you know what they do, who they are, who they USED to be, all that stuff. Need to know for anyone who lives in this city after all."
Nagi would cheerfully wave at his seat, not yet looking up from his laptop. Hey, he had a good memory for faces, if someone started something he would look up, get their face, and then ruin their digital life. So he could afford to let random people who ask civilly sit next to him.

Leon would take a seat listening to him speak about something on the internet. Research into famous locals? There were famous locals? Leon had lived in this city for a long time, he started thinking about who could be famous...
"What do you mean famous locals? Like actors or novelists or something?"
Leon was stumped honestly, who the fuck is famous here?! TELL ME! He calmly would sip his cocoa.

Nagi would chuckle.
"Sorry, by famous I mean the higher-ups. You know, police chiefs, CEOs, etc. The people who run things from above and keep the city running. Or at least their employees do while they have to handle all the paperwork. That sort of thing. Gotta know who to be polite too. And, you know, who's planning the next charity ball so you know which part of town to avoid so you don't have to deal with stuck up people bothering you for not being on they're level, like wearing a suit and tie 5 days out of 7 automatically makes you more important then people who work on the streets."
Not that Nagi cared, they were irritating more than anything. His parents are both highly successful in their fields and he himself was a rather skilled and known (anonymously) hacker making a decent living too.
"Well... Maybe not this guy I'm currently looking up though."

"Sodesu ka." "I see."
He'd take another sip and enjoy the mixture of the whip cream melting and cooling the cocoa that he drank down for a few moments.
"That's a pretty good idea honestly. Events like that are such a drag."
He'd grin and lean back in the chair a bit crossing his right leg over his left as he put the cup down. Rolling his neck from rough sleep last night he'd rub at his left shoulder.
"So, do you happen to be able to look into a paramilitary organization that tests bio weapons on american soil and wears gas masks?"
Long shot, but you never know.

Nagi would sigh, closing his eyes, his left hand twitching in phantom memory. He was okay; he was not good yet.
"The Copia Mall thing you mean? That utter shitshow? Sadly, I'm a civilian. I can look across the web, social media, dark web, looking for any hints... A friend of mine found that the mall's security was FAR more elevated, defenses and traps littering the system that SHOULDN'T have been there. But unless someone lets something slip they shouldn't on the public domain, only so much one can do. Mainly rumors, hearsay, and conspiracy theories."
Nagi then opened his eyes, finally looking up at his table mate, before flicking his gaze back and forth from his laptop.
"Hmm... May I ask you a question? It will be rather personal though. I'll let you ask one in kind, Mr. Sudeki."

As the guy spoke it seemed he had tried, or at least knew someone who had already looked into this. Which didn't bode well for what he was looking for, but he did find interesting things with security of some kind. Though finally when the guy looked up a him something shifted in his mind and suddenly used his name?
"Ask your question then."
He wasn't a private man, so he didn't see the harm in it, though with him knowing him by name... Not something he liked considering what was going on now.

Nagi tapped his laptop.
"Quite a bit of yourself is public record, especially what you got up to throughout high school. Honestly, there's more about your high school career on record than most of your life after. It makes me curious about something. If you can tell me, what would you say is your proudest moment AFTER high school?"
There was a lot to be learned from what a man takes pride in. Someone like one Leon Sudeki, who had quite the presence in Anthem City and was a rather... notable, figure, was someone that since Nagi had the chance would be worthwhile to learn about and perhaps keep tabs on. Never know when you need a connection somewhere.

Leon would nod, he figured his life would be rather public with the things he did with the corrupt school system as it was pushing him into newer and newer extremes as the years went on, then evolving with the times as he grew to this inevitability. He would scratch at his chin with the question, but it was a pretty simple answer really that he didn't feel uncomfortable about sharing.
"When my son was born. Really can't top that."

A family man. Well that was intriguing. And encouraging. To Nagi, that spoke of a man who had enough pride in his life and enough human decency that he was excited to leave a legacy. Someone for the next generation. Filing that information away in his mind, Nagi would nod at Leon.
"That is quite the answer. A good one, in my opinion, for all that matters. I asked my question, so as I said, you're free to ask any question you like of me."
With that said, Nagi would shrug.
"Don't know what you may want to ask, but a deal is a deal."

Leon would mull over the response to his answer calmly waiting for something to spring up from it, but instead the guy awaited a question to be asked of him as part of their little agreement so far. That showed a personal honor system and that there was more to this person than someone playing on a lap top learning about people.
"Well, I have many questions at this point, but I think I am fine with one for now. What is your name?"

Nagi blinked. Oh. How rude of him.
"I'm sorry, I should have introduced myself when I realized who you were. Or rather, that I knew your name already and you had no way to know mine. My name is Nagi Ostini."
He frowned at that.
"I'm aware my appearance doesn't match the cultural ties my name implies. Trust me I am aware. I love my parents dearly, but they are... eccentric. As common courtesy I SHOULD have introduced myself and I failed to do so, that won't count as your question if you care to ask another."
Nagi is a (generally) fair man. Also polite when not worked up.

Leon would chuckle a bit, the guy was polite and seemed somewhat flustered or put off by his own rudeness at not introducing himself. Which spoke wonders for the guys character. Though to make amends he wished to wipe that question from the rules of this get together as such Leon decided to take him up on that offer.
"Well, Ostini-san. I will ask a new question then. Did you see or hear anything the people in the gas masks said?"

Nagi's hand clenched into a fist reflexively. He breathed deep for a moment, purposely relaxing his hand.
"Unfortunately, no. When the chaos first started I got myself to cover."
Here he took a moment to chuckle and gesture to himself.
"I'm not exactly the most athletic, and I never learned to fight. I'm much better with electronics than anything physical. If I can see a way to intervene I will, but a crazy man waving a gun around with a hostage? And a number others in the area acting strangely? No, after trying through a few different methods to call out for help I took to cover behind a shelf."
He scowled, brief flashes of memory in his mind, hands clenching once again.
"Some asshole in a robe tried something, but I lashed out. Next thing I know he's gone and there's a couple bodies around me. I stayed where I was after that, unbothered. Until the police finally showed."
He sighed lowly.
"I got off better than a number of people. The injury and fatality reports are... unpleasant. Plus the sheer mental trauma that everyone present went through. I'm a little surprised that an attack of seemingly domestic terrorism has seen no governmental response."
