Stevie Smiled. "I'm gonna wash the dishes and put away the leftovers." She'd stand up and make her way back to the kitchen, after another long drink of sweet tea.

"Sure." WR would say as they continued to work.
They would play a few more songs to captivate their mood, and soon enough, they would make good progress on one of the portraits.

Stevie finished putting dinner away and into three separate containers and placed them into the fridge. After that she would wash all the dishes and place them on the drying rack. And finally, make her way back to the living room. "I have a question."

WR was quick to respond, looking up with a smile. "Yeah?"

Stevie hesitated before sitting down and taking a sip of tea. "You mentioned the other day you don't have electric. Would you mind if I sent a mini fridge home with you? It runs on a battery so there's no need for electric. It has a three day battery life."

WR would shrug.
"I'm saving up for an apartment, so I won't be in that shithole much longer," They'd start, seemingly avoiding the question.
After a pause, they'd finally add. "Wouldn't mind a mini fridge though."

Stevie looked relieved. "Oh good. While you are saving, you can recharge the battery over here when you come by. I might have an extra battery for it in the garage. I'll have to check." Now she had something to store the leftovers in. Stevie hated the idea of the food being left out and spoiling before they had a chance to eat it.

"Right," They'd say, taking a sip of their coke before continuing.
"This look good so far?" They'd slide the portrait in front of Stevie.

Stevie's eyes wandered over the outline of Leon holding a very gooey cheese pizza slice, yet still managing to look foreboding and ruthless, calm and calculating. It was perfect. "This is fantastic. You really have a keen eye for detail, WR."

WR would scoff into a smile, clearly embarrassed.
"It just comes naturally I guess. Anyone can do it."

It was Stevie's turn to scoff. "Are you kidding? My stick figures look terrible."

"With enough practice your stick figures will become less stick-y and more figure-y," They'd say, then facepalm at the stupidity of that statement. "Ignore that. Clearly I don't know what I'm talking about..."

"Naw. Maybe if you gave me some pointers. But I'm sure you know exactly what you're talking about." Stevie'd reach out and pat WR's knee. "Clearly, you know." She'd gesture at the picture.

WR would scoff again.
"Right, right. Guess I'm a good learner and not a good teacher." They'd shrug as they pulled the portrait back in front of them. Something big was missing and they couldn't quite put their finger on it...

"The master of both is truly an inspiration." Stevie leaned back before remembering she needed to check the garage for the other battery. She stood and made her way toward the garage. "I'll be right back."
