Boxing. That's fine. While training in Muay thai, I realized most boxers will focus on protecting their torso. So if I throw a couple feints, I should be able to get in a lower strike at his knee and finish this quick. Hang on. Leon wouldn't hire someone that inexperienced. Don't rush it. Make him attack you, use his strength against him.
I went over the plan as I closed the distance between us. I typically hated attacking first, preferring to dodge and block while I figured out my opponent's rhythm. But right now there was no telling if Rai had backup on the way.
I launched a right hook punch, trying to go around Rai's arms and catch his head in the side. The attack seemingly left my side open, but as my right arm was moving through the motions of the hook punch, my left arm dropped to about diaphragm level so that I could quickly move it if needed.

Rai smiled as Ayden came at him with a hook as he dropped to the ground, using his hands to Capoeira kick Ayden in his exposed side!

I was a little shocked when he fell all the way to the ground, but I managed to cross my left arm across my side. My arm caught the brunt of the attack, but I felt the impact across my side as my arm was pushed into it. I jumped backwards with the blow to put some distance between us.
I wasn't expecting him to switch between multiple styles as well. But that was the caliber of the people Leon brought on board. The attack didn't have as much force as I was expecting though. Does that mean he's a speed type? He was certainly fast, but I shouldn't out rule the idea that he might be holding back to throw me off.
I returned to my original stance and decided to wait till Rai made the next move.

Rai spun to a stop where he was laying on his side his arm holding up his head as if he just performed the most excellent B-boy dance move.
"Not bad, you recover from a stance switch rather well. What else you got?"
He would say as he stood up. Once standing he would rush to Ayden! At the last moment he go for a leg sweep to attempt to send Ayden to the ground!

He's trying to throw you off your game. Focus. I had to make myself somewhere else the instant he was here, so I prepared to jump as soon as he was close enough. As he dashed at me, I confirmed my suspicions that he was a good bit faster than me. I jumped up into the air, placing my left hand on Rai's head in an attempt to hold myself vertically above him. My right fist would plummet down towards Rai's face.

Rai took the hit, cocking his head to the side to try and deadening the force a little. He would smile. Not bad, he was compensating for his lack in speed with preemptive movements. So he used his head too, thats a good sign. Rai would attempt an uppercut to Ayden's gut while he was still in the air, hoping to land a solid hit while he wasn't able to dodge.

His fist flew at my gut. Perfect. I could use this. I took the punch to the gut full force and winced. I needed to make sure not to make a habit of doing that. But my hand pushed of Rai's head as both of my hands grasped his wrist. I swung my legs as I continued flipping over Rai, before swinging and throwing him towards the ground.

Rai would get tossed! Rai would flip in the air to land on his feet, but the land was a little harsh. He would clench his teeth upon land.
"Heh, not bad."
He would say spitting up some blood that had filled his mouth from the punch.
"But, if that's all you got, you aren't walking away from this."
He would say standing up as he pulled out a throwing knife from his belt.
"How good are you if I get lethal?"
He would as he hurled the knife at Ayden's chest! Rapidly reaching to grab another blade from his belt!

I landed, stumbling a moment before resuming my original stance. My eyes narrowed as Rai drew his knife. I pivoted on leading left foot to narrowly move out of the way of the knife, as my right hand drew further back. I drew out my Raijin Clan bokken and held it in my right hand. As my right foot stopped in front closing some of the distance due to the pivot, I held the bokken up diagonally in front of me, the tip coming up just over my left shoulder. I chose specifically not to use the wazakashi hidden inside.
"You wanna tell me what this is about before someone gets hurt."

Rai quick threw a knife at Ayden's leg as he charged after it pullout a larger combat knife, aiming to cut him in his right shoulder!

I instinctively hopped up to dodge the knife thrown at my legs. Shit! Master had warned me about this. I wasn't in a position to dodge the knife coming at my shoulder. I tried to shift my torso to avoid the knife, but only managed to keep it from cutting too deep or hitting any major muscles. I grit through the pain, letting go of my bokken with my right hand as my feet hit the ground.
My left hand immediately moved up to catch the bokken in a reverse grip, before stepping forward as I swung it at Rai's head.

Rai wasn't expecting the drop/catch/counter of the bokken and would get hit Square upside the head knocking him back and causing him to bleed. This got him to laugh.
"Not bad!"
Rai exclaimed as he sheathed his combat knife and went stand up straight, though stumbling a bit. His brain was a little jumbled.
"I think you just gave me a new scar."
He said reaching up to touch the cut on his head.
"And that cut should scar up real nice to."
He would say with a nod.
"Well, I'd say you passed friend. Looks like your training wasn't just for talk. With skills like that Raijin's strength will surely grow."
He would say folding his arms.

I kept my stance until Rai started laughing. I put my bokken away as he sheathed his knife, and gave him a hand up. So it was training. I really wish Leon would just be more up front. I would have loved the chance to punch him instead.
"I did like this jacket though."
I commented looking down at the cut on my shoulder. A right of passage huh? Somehow I was already starting to feel like less of an outsider in the Raijin. I pointed towards the side door in the alley.
"Strip club?"

"Ah, I am sorry about that, don't worry I told Leon I would do this job on the house. But if you'd like I'll let him know my payment will be to get your jacket fixed up."
He would go and grab his jacket putting it back on. Then Ayden would offer to go to the strip club. Rai would chuckle.
"I appreciate the offer, but strip club aren't my thing. However..."
Rai would pull out $200 and cigar and hand them to Ayden.
"You have fun for the both of us, least I can do for springing that shit on you. But, you know how it goes, you get a real fight out of someone who thinks their life is in danger."
With that Rai would head out of the alley waving behind him wishing Ayden a good time.
